The World Boxing Council has junked speculative reports that Mexican ring legend Erik ?El Terrible? Morales had failed a drug test supposedly conducted by the United States Anti Doping Agency a few days before Morales seeks to regain his WBC light welterweight title from Danny Garcia who is also the WBA champion having won the title with a stunning 4th round TKO over Amir Khan.

Golden Boy Promotions CEO Richard Schaefer said said USADA informed him 'irregularities' had been detected in a test taken on the former four-division world champion on Tuesday.

However, WBC president Don Jose Sulaiman insists the report is not true saying ?these rumors are false.?

Morales is scheduled to face Garcia in Brooklyn, New York on Sunday Manila Time in a fight to be telecast over the weekly boxing show ?Big Time Bakbakan? at 12:00 noon over AKTV IBC 13.

Sulaiman said "The representative of the World Boxing Council in New York, Joe Dwyer, and the New York Boxing Commission do not know of any positive evidence of doping and if there had been a test, for the WBC it's invalid.?

The WBC president pointed out "The WBC rules stipulate that a drug test should only be performed in the locker room before or after the fight. That's all I accept.?

Sulaiman emphasized "If the fight takes place, it will be with the absolute recognition of the World Boxing Council, with the requirement of drug testing the day of the fight. Only the Boxing Commission and WBC have the authority to reveal a positive test."
