After numerous postponements and venue changes, the long delayed unification match between Brian "The Hawaiian Punch" Viloria and Hernan "Tyson" Marquez was officially announced today in a press conference held in Los Angeles.
The much anticipated bout between two great world champions of the flyweight division will take place at the Los Angeles Sports Arena on November 17, 2012.
"It's going to be a great fight. I am very, very excited for it. I have trained a lot harder than I did for it because I know Tyson Marquez is also going to be ready that night. I know that he is training hard also," said Brian Viloria who has the WBO flyweight belt in his possession.
"This is a career defining type of fight. This is the type of fight that everybody would want a to have a win on their record and that is what I'm planning for," added Viloria.
His opponent, Hernan "Tyson" Marquez of Mexico is the current WBA belt holder and has been undefeated for two years now.
"I feel very, very happy with my trainer Robert Garcia. We have done a tremendous job and now that I have this great opportunity against one of the very recognized fighter who is the best 112 fighter, who is the best in the world," Marquez stated through an interpreter at the press conference held today at the ESPN Zone in downtown Los Angeles.
Marquez mentioned that he used to watch Viloria when he was 15 or 16 years old and that he never thought that in six years he will become a world champion himself and face him in the ring.
He expects a great fight between his co-champ come November 17th and that a victory over Viloria will make him the number one fighter in the division.
Both camps expect their fighters to train hard for this important fight and believe that the fight between the two will become one of the best in boxing this year.
The fight dubbed as "Champion vs. Champion" will be carried live in the United States by Wealth TV, in Mexico by TV Azteca and in by GMA Network in the Philippines.
