Manhattan Beach, California - Oct. 10,2012

Despite the fact that WBO/IBF super bantamweight champion Nonito "The Filipino Flash" Donaire is scheduled to face WBC Champion Emeritus Toshiaki Niahioka for the coveted Diamond Belt at the Home Depot Center in Carson City, California on October 13 (14 in Manila), the World Boxing Council has described Donaire as "one of the best fighters in the world."

In heralding Donaire who is in the top five on Ring Magazine's pound for pound rankings, the WBC noted that Donaire had "faced and defeated Vladimir Sidoreno, Fernando Montiel, Omar Narvaez, Wilfredo Vazquez Jr among others."

Donaire worked out here twice on Tuesday, the second in the evening at approximately the same time he will enter the ring against the classy Japanese southpaw Nishioka who is staying another another venue and apparently keeps to himself and
hasn't even granted any interviews.

Donaire, in stark contrast, has been easily accesible to the media and made a special guest appearance on "ESPN Nacion" with hosts David Faitelson, Bernardo Osuna and Adriana Monsalve at the ESPN studios in downtown Los Angeles.

Later today the four main fighters on the Top Rank card including genuine ring warriors Mike Alvarado and "Bam Bam" Rios will put on a public workout at the Justin Fortune Gym in Los Angeles with Donaire scheduled to go last.

Top Rank promoter Bob Arum is overjoyed at the response to one of the most exciting fight cards this year with the potential for one of two title fights likely to make it as "The Fight of the Year." He said 7,000 tickets have already been sold for the fights which will be telecast in the Philippines by the giant broadcast network ABS-CBN on its pre-eminent Channel 2 at 10:15 a.m. on Sunday.

Team Donaire is upbeat even though they know that Nishioka is regarded as one of the toughest opponents Donaire has met so far. They believe that Donaire's handspeed which has picked up even more and his punching power will prove too much
for the 36 year old Japanese who hasn't fought for just over one year since scoring a worthy victory over tough Rafael Marquez.

While Marquez is a solid fighter Donaire's team members pointed out that Marquez was slow-footed and coudn't match the pace of Nishioka. while Donaire's speed and power along with his superb counter-punching ability should make a crucial difference.

Donaire himself said he is "mentally and physically prepared for this big fight,? and although Nishioka"will try to land the left straight that is difficult to do against me. Aside from that, I haven?t seen any tape that he can do damage with."

Donaire conceded that the Japanese "did great against Marquez (brother of Juan Manuel Marquez), but Marquez is a lot slower than me. A lot of those punches won?t land with me with power.?

Team Donaire headed by top class trainer Robert Garcia has studied Nishioka's fight tapes, spotted his habits and his flaws and developed a fight plan that they believe will end in an impressive win.
