
OVER ONE MILLION WATCHED PBA OPENING DAY GAME ON AKTV IBC 13

Over 1.1 million people watched the opening of the 2013 season of the Philippine Basketball Association (PBA) which was an increase of over 31 percent compared to last season?s opening.
According to Nielsen Media Research NUTAM data covering Sunday, September 30 2012, the opening game between Barangay Ginebra San Miguel and GlobalPort Batang Pier had an average rating of 2.7% or over 1.1 million viewers.
Ginebra San Miguel, the league?s most popular team against the exciting newcomers Global Port Batang Pier (formerly Powerade) plus a lavish opening ceremony graced by a bevy of lovely muses led by superstars Anne Curtis, Sam Pinto of Viva Entertainment, Alice Dixson of ABC 5, Isabelle Daza of GMA 7, Georgina Wilson, Rizzini Alexis Gomez, daughter of former player Roehl Gomez, Muyta ng Pilipinas Camille Guevarra, Miss Earth Stephanie Stefamowithz and ABC 5 Artista Academy?s Stephanie Rowe and Barako Bull?s Ciane Simones Xavier saw the Smart Araneta Coliseum packed to the rafters with 18,901 spectators in attendance.
The game itself saw the emergence of LA Tenorio as a vital addition to the Barangay Ginebra backcourt.
Tenorio was named ?Best Player of the Game? by the TV panel of AKTV IBC 13 COMPOSED OF Mico Halili, Jason Webb and two-time MVP and the only ?Rookie of the Year? to win the MVP title, Benjie Paras. Tenorio had 10 assists and 9 rebounds.
The hugely popular Mark Caguioa who was given a rousing reception by the fans scored 18 points and led six players in double figures.
