Recognizing the importance and impact of the battle for the vacant WBO bantamwweight title between AJ "Bazooka" Banal and Pungluang Sor Singyu on October 20 at the Mall of Asia Arena on October 20, WBO President Francisco "Paco" Valcarcel has appointed highly respected international referee Tony Weeks as the third man in the ring.

Valcarcel also named three outstanding judges to officiate in the fight that has drawn immense interest among fight fans both in the Philippines and Thailand.

Weeks was referee in the WBC middleweight title fight between Julio Cesar Chavez Jr of Mexico and Argentina's Sergio "Maravilla" Martinez before a record crowd at the Thomas & Mack Center in Las Vegas.

He also worked the last fight of undefeated Floyd Mayweather Jr against Puerto Rico's Miguel Cotto.

Named as judges are Robert Hoyle, Raul Caiz Jr and Levi Martinez. WBO Asia Pacific vice president Leon Panoncillo will be the fight supervisor.

Hoyle was the judge who scored the controversial third fight between Manny Pacquiao and Juan Manuel Marquez a draw.

Martinez was a judge in the WBA light flyweight championship bout when Roman Gonzalez retained his totle with a comfortable twelve round unanimous decision win over Manual Vargas on March 19, 2011 in Mexico.

Banal who is ranked No.1 and Pungluang Sor Sungyu who is ranked No.2 will clash for the title relinquished by Mexican warrior Jorge Arce who has moved up a division to fight as a super bantamweight.
