New York, NY ? The Edison Ballroom in Times Square played host to boxing rivals, Manny Pacquiao and Juan Manuel Marquez New York City press tour of their upcoming bout on December 8, 2012.
The two fighters will engaged on what is to be their fourth and final fight at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, NV in three months? time.
Both fighters figured in three hotly contested and exciting fights with each result as debatable and unclear as the previous one before that. Marquez and Pacquiao drew their initial meeting, split their second one in 2008 and last November, Pacquiao was awarded a close and questionable Majority Decision nod in the same venue of this year?s fight.
Hence, the fourth try for both and the fourth offering by Top Rank Promotions to fans who like the fighters wanted a clear resolution to these battles.
?Each fight is a closely fought fight. Each guy is saying that this time it won?t be that close,? announced Top Rank founder and head Bob Arum. Arum expects that the fourth fight will still be received by fight fans everywhere because of the rich history between the two future Hall of Fame bound fighters.
?We expect within the first month or so, we?ll have a complete sellout,? Arum added.
Both Pacquiao and Marquez are in agreement that they need not to only carve out a win but a convincing one that is.
?I choose to fight Marquez again because I believe we can give a good fight for the fans,? Pacquiao said at the press conference which was attended by the New York media. ?I am looking forward to winning impressively and to make the fight as short as possible,? he added.
Marquez and his Hall of Fame Trainer, Nacho Beristain said that this will be the final confrontation in the ring between them and the Filipino superstar. ?It will leave everybody satisfied,? Beristain stated.
Marquez plans to use his experience both as a fighter and one that has faced Pacquiao on three occasions as a tool in the ring on December 8th. He says that he will once again do his job in the ring on this fourth bout with Pacquiao.
?I don?t need to prove nothing,? insists Marquez who believes he was robbed of a win on all of his three meetings with Pacquiao. ?because I won the last three fights!?
The stage is now set for the final battle that is Manny Pacquiao versus Juan Manuel Marquez.
