Las Vegas, NV - The lobby of the Wynn Resort and Casino Hotel is filled with blue and green as boxing fans line up as early as noon to watch the live weigh in between Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. 46-0-1-1 (32 KOs) of Mexico and Quilmes, Argentina's Sergio Martinez 49-2-2 (29 KOs).
Martinez stepped on the scales first amid the boos and jeers of the large pro-Chavez crowd and weighed in at 159 pounds, one pound below the Middleweight limit of 160.
Chavez Jr. , the WBC Middleweight Champion followed right away and weighed in a pound lesser than his nemesis at 158 pounds. He was cheered heavily by his fans and countrymen who trooped The Encore Theater to lend him support.
Both fighters figured in an intense face-off after their stint at the scales. They were seen to be talking passionately at each other's face which further fuel the crowd at the venue.
"Tomorrow's going to be a war because I want the war."Martinez said. He also told Chavez Jr. that he "will rip his head off." as he made a decapitation sign in front of the crowd.
