Former WBO flyweight champion Julio Cesar ?Pingo? Miranda moved up to bantamweight and suffered a 10th round TKO loss to Felipe ?Gallito? Orucuta in Mexico City, Sunday morning Manila Time.
Miranda who lost his title by a twelve round unanimous decision to Brian Viloria in Honolulu on July 16, 2011 was also badly beaten by former WBC light flyweight champion Rodel Mayol in a ten round bout on May 13, 2012 at the Ynares Sports Center in Pagig City, Metro Manila on May 13 this year.
Orucuta who was coming off a 2nd round TKO of Filipino Richard Garcia last June 30, stepped up to face Miranda after his original opponent Daniel ?Bad Boy? Rosas was prevented from fighting due to bronchitis.
The 26 year old Orucuta who improved to 25-1 with 21 knockouts was too strong for Miranda (37-8-1, 29 KO?s) and battered him in the 10th round forcing the referee to stop the bout in the tenth and final round.
