TRAINER EDITO VILLAMOR LIKES THE IDEA OF A PAGARA-MONTOYA TRILOGY

ALA Promotions chief trainer and former world title challenger Edito ?Ala? Villamnor is intrigued by the proposal of rugged Mexican Rosbel Montoya (34-5-1, 29 KO?s) for a trilogy with promising junior welterweight Jason Pagara (29-2, 18 KO?s) and a fight card featuring Montoya?s younger brother Eduardo ( 10-2-1, 9 KO?s) against Albert ?Prince? Pagara (12-0, 9 KO?s) , younger brother of Jason and a third brother, junior welterweight Daniel ( 8-23, 6 KO?s) to battle hard-hitting southpaw Jimrex ?The Execitioner? Jaca (35-6-3, 20 KO?s).

Villamor told the Manila Standard that while it all depends on ALA Promotions president Michael Aldeguer he personally believes ?it?s a good idea? since the only Filipino who engaged a Mexican in trilogies was Manny Pacquiao who fought Erik ?El Terrible? Morales and Juan Manuel Marquez in exciting bouts.

Villamor said that although Pagara scored a 6th round TKO when he dropped Montoya with a crippling blow to the left upper arm preventing the Mexican from continuing because of the severe pain, Montoya who was dropped in rounds one and three ?did well? even though he was unable to duplicate his comfortable ten round decision win in their first fight last September.

Aldeguer earlier told us he was ready to consider the request of Montoya, ?this could be very interesting and something to look at.?

The ?Pinoy Pride XV? fight card last August 18 in which Pagara, Genesis Servania and Jaca scored big wins over Montoya, Jorge Pazos and Angel Martinez was regarded by fight fans at the Waterfront Hotel & Casino as one of the most action-packed and exciting fight cards in some time.
