ALA Promotions president Michael Aldeguer is ready to consider a request by rugged Mexican junior welterweight Rosbel Montoya (34-5-1, 29 KO?s) to face Jason Pagara (29-2, 18 KO?s) and for his 19 year old brother Eduardo (12-0, 9 KO?s) be given a crack at Pagara?s younger brothers Albert ?The Prince? Pagara (12-0, 9 KO?s) with another brother, junior welterweight Daniel (8-3, 6 KO?s) face hard-hitting southpaw Jimrex ?The Executioner? Jaca (35-6-3, 20 KO?s).
In an email to Cebu-based Mexican Mike Lopez who acts as friend and corner-man of Hispanic fighters who see action in Cebu, Montoya claimed that if Erik ?El Terrible? Morales and Juan Manuel Marquez fought trilogies with Manny Pacquiao, Montoya ?I want the opportunity also.?
Mike Lopez quoted Montoya as telling him in an email, ?I am making a challenge to the Pagara brothers. The Montoya brothers want you both. I hope ALA Promotions can make this happen.?
Montoya remarked ?we love coming to Cebu, a beautiful city and fans who have a great respect for foreign boxers.?
Aldeguer told the Manila Standard ?this could be very interesting and its something to look at.?
Montoya suffered a crushing 6th round TKO at the hands of Pagara in their rematch last August 18 after the 21 year old Filipino cracked Montoya with a devastating right and virtually crippled his left arm which saw Montoya grimace in pain as he went down and was unable to continue. Pagara had lost their first encounter to the Mexican by a lopsided ten round decision on September 10, 2011.
In the rematch Pagara set the tone of the fight when he rocked Montoya with a big right hand and then dropped the Mexican with a vicious body shot in the opening round before a ripping left hook to the liver dropped Montoya for the second time in round three.
