Oriental and Pacific Boxing Federation flyweight champion Rocky ?The Road Warrior? Fuentes will defend his title in Cebu on September 22 against Japan-based South Korean Myung Ho Lee who was rated No. 5 in the July rankings of the OPBF.
However, Japan?s Hall-of-Fame boxing writer and matchmaker Joe Koizumi reported that Myung Ho Lee is the mandatory challenger to Fuentes who won the title on March 9, 2010 with a majority decision in a tough fight against Masafumi Okubo in Tokyo and has since successfully defended it four times with three of the defenses being against Japanese challengers in Japan.
The 26 year old, hard-hitting Fuentes has a record of 33-6-2 with 20 knockouts while Myung Ho Lee is 29 and has a record of 15-1 with 5 knockouts.
The 5?7? tall Japanese suffered his only defeat at the hands of Filipino Alfred Nagal on September 10, 2006 when he was knocked out in the 2nd round of a scheduled eight round bout. Since then Myung Ho Lee has won 13 fights in a row with his last bout being an 8th round technical decision over Sho Nazakawa on March 20, 2012.
Fuentes who is trained by youthful Joseph Baldago is ranked No. 2 by the WBA, No.3 by the WBO, No. 4 by the WBC and No 9 by the IBF and is regarded as one of then hardest working fighters in the famed ALA Gym.
