WBO/IBF super bantamweight champion Nonito ?The Filipino Flash? Nonito Donaire is in Honolulu, Hawaii en route to his training camp at the Undisputed Gym in the Bay Area and will begin training right away for his Diamond Belt showdown against WBC super champion Toshiaki Nishioka at the Home Depot Center in Carson City, California on October 13.

Donaire told the Manila Standard he will leave for Las Vegas with wife Rachel and then drive to California ?to begin training right away? since he may be a little behind schedule.

The four division world champion said he would have about two months preparation which would be good enough because he is ?already getting into shape fast because I don?t do any of the bad stuff like drinking. I ran for 40 minutes this morning and I didn?t even get tired. I know I?m going to get into shape fast and my body is accepting all the training we do.?

Donaire said he is currently around 132 pounds which is ten pounds over the super bantamweight limit which should be no problem.

?The Filipino Flash? who is coming off a comfortable twelve round decision over South Africa?s Jeffrey Mathebula from whom he won the IBF title also in Carson City last month in the process breaking Mathebula?s jaw in two places said he will not be training under Robert Garcia who is busy handling Brandon ?Bam Bam? Rios for his battle with Mike Alvarado in the co-main event.

Donaire revealed that he usually handles his own training and concentrates on strength and conditioning which he said ?is pretty much what I do.?

He said the same people ? Michael Bazzel and Brian Schwartz ? will be handling this aspect of my training even as he admitted that Nishioka probably got a head-start in training for the fight.

However, Donaire expressed confidence he would be ?more than 100 percent by the time everything goes and I?ll be ready by then. There are others who train for three or four months and I train for a month and a half but I train hard and have no distractions or vices.?

Donaire who was the leading man opposite Krissel Valdez who was runner-up in ABS-CBN?S hit talent search show ?Star Power? in a remake of the original Visayan movie ?Ang Palad Magbuot? which starred the late Gabriel ?Flash? Elorde and Gloria Sevilla said ?it was great and we are trying to do a soft launch in September. It was another experience for me and now I need to go back and be who I am which is a fighter.?
