Casimero.
The International Boxing Federation has declared Johnriel the new IBF junior flyweight champion because of the inability of Ulises Solis to defend his title on or before October 30.

IBF Championship Committee chairman Lindsey Tucker informed Solis? promoter Fernando Beltran that they had been provided with a letter from Mr. Solis? doctor on July 17, 2012 which stated that Solis had a check up and the Doctor determined that Solis needed a bone insertion on the left side of his jaw. The operation was done on May 29, 2012. The Doctor stated that Solis can?t exercise at all for at least 3 or 4 months. After that time, the Doctor will examine Solis again.?

Tucker stated that ?based on the information, it is the IBF?s determination that Solis will be unable to defend the IBF Jr. Flyweight Title on or before October 30, 2012. Therefore, effective immediately the IBF declares that Johnriel Casimero the new IBF Jr. Flyweight Champion. The IBF wishes Solis the best of luck and a speedy recovery.?

Solis was injured allegedly after being hammered by the much heavier Saul ?Canelo? Alvarez over a personal issue and was given an extension of nine months under the Medical Exception to complete his mandatory title defense against Interim champion Casimero.

Since a further extension would go beyond the October 30 date, the IBF affirmed that Casimero has been elevated to full champion effective immediately.

Casimero won the Interim title via a 10th round TKO over Argentina?s Luis Lazarte in a fight that was marred by a post-fight riot in which Casimero and his manager/promoter Sammy Gello-ani were both attacked by angry Lazarte supporters.

Lazarte was himself suspended for one year.
