Two exciting bouts will be featured on "Big Time Bakbakan" over AKTV IBC 13 this Sunday at 12:00 noon with the IBF junior middleweight title fight between champion Cory Spinks and challenger Cornelius Bundrage and former welterweight contender Jesus Soto Karass of Mexico battling Euri Gonzalez of the Dominican Republic.
Bundrage battered Spinks who was the hometown fighter and went on to score a 5th round TKO at the Scottrade Center in St. Louis, Missouri while a vintage Soto Karass was in what Boxing Scene editor Jake Donovan described as a search-and-destroy mode against the tough Gonzalez who realized that the Mexican who has been described as a "poor man's Antonio Margarito" stepped up and closed the show once he had Gonzalez in trouble.
After disposing of Spinks, the son of former heavyweight champion Leon Spinks and nephew of former heavyweight and light heavyweight champion Michael Spinks, Brundage said "I want Manny Pacquiao next."
Spinks protested the stoppage by referee Mark Nelson while his trainer, former champion Buddy McGirt said "Cory is a world champion and I think a world champion deserves the benefit of the doubt in that situation."
However, referee Nelson defended his decision saying "Spinks had a staggered and dazed look. He shook his head after the knockdown as if to say no."
Fight fans will get a chance to see for themselves whether referee Nelson was correct when the fight is telecast this Sunday on Active Television AKTV 13.
