Promising undefeated junior middleweight Glen Tapia, who was one of Manny Pacquiao's sparring partners at Pacquiao's training camp in Baguio City while he was preparing for the fight against Antonio Margarito, has scored an impressive 1st round, one punch knockout of journeyman Carlos Garcia of Puerto Rico.

Keith Idec of Boxing Scene reported that the 22-year-old Tapia hoped the fight would?ve lasted at least a little longer than exactly two minutes. He said " I wanted to show them more. I wanted the fans to see me and say, ?Wow! I want to see him again.? This fight happened so fast, they really didn?t see my potential. I want them to know my full potential. I want to show them that.?

With the win the Top Rank prospect remains undefeated with a record of 14-0 with 8 knockouts while Garcia dropped to 6-11-1.

Tapia clipped Garcia with a grazing left and then nailed him with a cracking right straight to end the scheduled six round bout in a hurry.

Garcia collapsed in a corner and was counted out giving the hard hitting Tapia his third straight knockout victory.

Tapia is scheduled to return to the ring on August 18 at Bally's in Atantic City in an eight round bout but no opponent has been named as yet.

Tapia said ?I?m ready for that next step. I can?t wait for that. I?m ready. I?m training hard. I?ll be right back in the gym Tuesday.?

Tapia added "I can?t wait to show everybody that I?m ready to be with these top guys. But I?m taking my time and whatever they tell me to do, I?m going to do. I?m going to fight whoever?s in front of me and show these guys that I?m here to stay.?
