World Boxing Council super flyweight Silver champion Sylvester Lopez hopes to give the Philippines another world
title to make up for Manny Pacquiao's unbelievable loss of his WBO wellterweight title to Timothy Bradley in a scandalous split decision last June 9 when the protege of Gabriel "Bebot" Elorde jr battles WBC champion Yota Sato at the Bunka Gym, in Yokohama tomorrow evening (Sunday).

Both fighters tipped the scale at the super flyweight limit of 115 pounds at the official weigh-in today (Saturday).

The fight is scheduled to be telecast at 9:00 p.m. on AKTV IBC 13.

Lopez had spent two weeks in Japan and according to Elorde had six sparring sessions with Japanese champions after which he concentrated on conditioning for the title fight.

Elorde said that Lopez, a dedicated and disciplined boxer is being trained by Fernando Cabanela and Archie Villamor who expressed confidence that the soft-spoken Lopez with his powerful fists is capable of adding to the number of reigning Filipino world champions.

The 24 year old Lopez earned the title shot with a stunning 8th round TKO over highly favored Mexican Oscar Ibarra in a title eliminator in Mexico on September 24, 2011 and in his last fight scored a 4th round TKO over Japan?s Yuki Fukumoto in a scheduled ten round bout on March 10 this year.

Lopez has a record of 19-3-1 with 15 knockouts while his 28 year old opponent Yota Sato has a record of 24-2-1 with 12 knockouts.
