Newark, NJ ? Amidst a sea of red and white in the state he calls his second home, Tomasz Adamek puts up an effective performance against American Eddie Chambers at the Prudential Center here in New Jersey.

Adamek outpointed Chambers in a 12 round heavyweight battle and in the process picking up a regional title belt of the IBF. Adamek used effective jabbing and speedy combinations in carving out the Unanimous Decision victory over his opponent in front of a predominantly Polish crowd that came here to lend him support. They cheered for him from the opening round to the final bell as Polish music played in between rounds during the bout.

It also helped that Chambers was basically a handed fighter last night after hurting his left arm in the initial round of the fight.

?I pulled up a jab and his big arm is on the way. I think it kind of caused me to tear something.? said Chambers after the fight. That proved to be disastrous for the fighter out of Philadelphia as he was forced to alter his stance and game plan in the remainder of the fight.

But Chambers fought gallantly, even landing big looping rights on Adamek who was not as mobile as his previous fights. Chambers would work on his positioning inside the ring as he landed his only weapon of the night in various stages of the bout. Chambers doubled his jabs and punches in the late rounds of the bout after Adamek slowed down during that stretch. The Philly fighter jabbed and punched all from that single arm which scored on his Polish opponent.

Adamek finished the fight strong on the 12th and last round, resorting to his multiple combinations that have worked well for him in the early stages of the fight. That resurgence in the last round coupled with his early lead in the fight proved enough for Adamek to win his 46th career victory.

?I won this fight. The fight was very close. ? he said at the post fight press conference. ?He moved very quick. He won?t stand and fight. He don?t want (to fight).? Adamek described of Chambers.

Adamek verbalized that he is looking forward to fight the best of the division which is one of the Klitschko brothers in 2013. Adamek lost to one of them in Vitali in September 2011 in his hometown of Poland. He hopes that this win will bring him that chance again either with the younger Vladimir or a rematch with Vitali. But for now he wants to rest and savor his victory. Adamek and his promoter eyes a September return in the ring after tonight?s fight.

Meantime Chambers will have to recover from this injury which he thinks will not derail his career this time. This is Chamber?s first fight in fourteen months after being sidelined with back to back injuries which forced him out of two fights in the past. His last health problem was a back injury suffered last October contributing to the long layoff going to this fight.
