Former world junior welterweight champion Amir Khan who was fired up by what he branded as the disrespectful remarks of WBC champion Danny Garcia?s father who said Khan was overrated, has vowed to make Garcia pay when they clash at the Mandalay Bay Resort Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas on Sunday, July 15, Manila Time.

The fight will be telecast on the widely watched ?Big Time Bakbakan? weekly boxing show on Active television, AKTV IBC 13 at 12:00 noon right after Viva Sports ?The Main Event.?

Garcia agreed to put his title on the line after a Khan rematch with Lamont Peterson fell through when the American tested positive for a banned substance while preparing for the rematch.

Peterson had won the WBA and IBF light welterweight titles when he beat Khan in a controversial split decision in his hometown of Washington DC last December.

Khan was peeved when Garcia's father Angel told a press conference in Los Angeles: ?'Khan is an overrated fighter. Peterson whupped him like an octopus and then he blamed it on the judges.?

Garcia took the WBC light welterweight title with a comfortable victory over an ageing Erik Morales and has now put the belt on the line against Khan.

Both fighters are managed by Oscar De La Hoya?s Golden Boy Promotions.

Khan responded to the remarks of Garcia?s father when he said: 'Danny's father does a lot of talking, but at the end of the day he's not the one who's going to be in the ring. 'When I beat your son am I still going to be overrated? We will see what happens.'

The 25 year old Khan who has a record of 26-2 with 18 knockouts doesn?t underestimate the 24 year old Garcia who is undefeated with a record of 23-0 with 14 knockouts.

He said: 'After the Peterson fight fell through we were quite desperate to get a fight because I was at my peak. Danny accepted the challenge. I know how good he is. He's had a good win against Erik Morales. This is going to be a big test for me.'

Garcia said: 'Khan's a great fighter, I'm a great fighter. When you put two great fighters together you get an awesome show. I'm ready to defend my title.'

Prior to beating Morales to win the WBC title last March 24, Garcia won the vacant WBO Intercontinental title in a WBC/IBF eliminator with a split decision over twelve rounds against Kendall Holt on October 15, 2011.
