Las Vegas, NV - What started out as a slam bang affair between two small guys of the sport ended in disappointment. Mexican legend Jorge Arce scored a knockdown in the early minutes of the initial round against Puerto Rican Jesus Rojas.

Arce sneaked a left hook when Rojas tried to throw a left that dropped him in the canvass. Rojas would get up and recover from the knockdown and fought bravely in the remainder of the round.
Rojas fought toe to toe against the Mexican slugger producing an exciting first round that the crowd enjoyed. The action in the ring would excite the crowd that was thirsty for action after the unappealing previous fight.

But the public's hopes for a good fight would end quickly after Arce would figure into a trio of fouls from Rojas. They would clash heads ,then hit by a low blow and then punched on the ear by Rojas as he was going down.

That would proved disastrous for Arce as he fell down in the canvass in obvious pain. He was given time to recuperate but was unable to regain his usual fighting form.

The fight was stopped and ruled a no contest by the officials of the bout. The incident was called an unintentional foul thereby the ruling.

The result of the fight was not appreciated by the crowd here at the MGM Grand Garden Arena but there is nothing that they can do. Both fighters expressed disappointment as well and verbalized to once again fight if given the opportunity to do so.
