ALA Promotions ?Pinoy Pride XIV? which was presented in cooperation with the giant broadcast network ABS-CBN ON Sunday morning over Channel 2 turned in solid ratings.

The telecast of the ?Night of Champions? featuring the first WBO light flyweight title defense of Donnie ?Ahas? Nietes against No. 7 ranked Mexican challenger Felipe Salguerto and the battle for the vacant WBO International flyweight title between WBO No.1 Milan Melindo and former champion and No. 7 ranked Jesus Gelez of Colombia turned in a national average of 14.3 percent with a remarkable high of 26.4 percent in South Luzon and a low of 9.2 percent in the suburbs as well as Central Luzon.

Mega Manila ratings averaged 10.2 percent while Metro Manila did better at 11.0 percent and the rest of Luzon a much better 16.2 percent.

Northern Luzon registered a rating of 12.6 percent while the Visayas with 23.2 percent and Mindanao with 19.3 percent were outstanding.

Due to public demand the fight card will be replayed this time including the enthralling battle between three-time world title contender Genaro ?Poblanito? Garcia and promising 20 year old sweet-punching Genesis ?Azukal? Servania who scored what many considered a stunning upset when he dropped the experienced Garcia twice in the twelfth round en route to a TKO victory.

With the win Servania who faced his first big test and shocked Garcia who had previously beaten five world champions and predicted he would win by a knockout and take Servania to school was himself taught a painful lesson.

World Boxing Council president Don Jose Sulaiman told the Manila Standard ?a new star is born? in reference to Servania who won the prestigious organization?s Silver International super bantamweight title.

The telecast which will also showcase the Nietes-Felipe Salguero title bout and the spectacular first round knockout of former world champion Jesus Geles of Colombia by WBO No.1 ranked Milan Melindo will be on this Friday, June 8 on Studio 23 at 5:30 p.m.
