Genaro 'Poblanito' Garcia.

ALA Promotions is still trying its best to bring in the ?real? Genaro Garcia, the Mexican super bantamweight with a record of 38-8 with 22 knockouts to fight Rey ?Boom Boom? Bautista (33-2, 25 KO?s) who is ranked No. 4 by the IBF, on May 19 in Manila.

ALA Promotions president Michael Aldeguer told the Manila Standard ?We are still negotiating with Genaro ?Poblanito? Garcia but there is a concern that he might not be open to fighting at 126 (which is Bautista?s weight) but we really want to bring him in.?

World Boxing Council president Don Jose Sulaiman tried to help get the real Garcia after the fiasco involving Genaro ?Panterita? Garcia but informed the Standard that the real Garcia?s promoter was not agreeable to fighting at 126 pounds.

Should Garcia?s handlers decline a fight at 126 pounds Aldeguer said they are considering matching him against undefeated Genesis Servania (17-0, 5 KO?s) ?which will be a big test for him but that?s the plan.?

The fight card will be headlined by a WBO light flyweight title defense of Donnie Nietes (29-1-3 , 16 KO?s) against a rated opponent although no names have yet been decided on.

Aldeguer said that should the Bautista-Garcia fight fall through them undefeated Milan Melindo (26-0, 10 KO?s) who is ranked No. 1 by the WBO, No. 7 by the WBC, No. 9 by the WBA and No. 12 by the IBF will replace Bautista on the card with Servania possibly fighting Garcia.
