Two talented Filipino fighters, former WBC light flyweight champion Rodel Mayol and former WBO Oriental champion Richie Mepranum are ready to wage war in Mexico when they take on separate opponents on Sunday, Manila Time.
Mayol said he is in great shape and ready to go for a knockout against reigning WBA flyweight champion Hernan ?Tyson? Marquez who lost a lopsided ten round decision to Mepranum on March 12, 2010.
Mepranum, the skilled southpaw will face 21 year old Juan Francisco ?The Rooster? Estrada in a bantamweight bout on the undercard.
The fighters who will headline the ?Clash of Champions ? Mexico vs Philippines? at the Multipurpose Center in Ciudad Obregon, Sonora, Mexico showed in what great shape they are after several weeks of hard training.

Marquez who has a record of 32-2 with 25 knockouts will defend his title for the third time against Mayol who boasts of a record of 30-5-2 with 22 knockouts and counts among his victims then WBC world lightweight champion Edgar Sosa over whom he scored a 2nd round TKO on November 21, 2009.
Mayol looked fit and ready when he worked on the punch-mitts with trainer Nonoy Neri and proved he is well prepared to take on the hard-hitting Marquez.
Mayol indicated he is looking for a knockout but knows that ?Tyson? Marquez is a verey strong fighter who will also look for a knockout.
Mayol was quoted as saying he feels ?very strong after training first in the Philippines and then in Los Angeles? at the Wild Card Gym of Freddie Roach.
He said it promises to be a good fight ?because I come to fight. Tyson (Marquez) is very strong. He is a very talented boxer. It will be a good fight and I?m going to give it all.?
?Tyson? Marquez, the WBA "Fighter of the Year" in 2011 said "I've done great training and had a good work plan that my trainer designed and we stuck to 100 percent. We're just keeping our weight to avoid problems the day of the weigh-in and then I'm eager to meet Mayol."
