Fearless Mexican WBO featherweight champion Orlando Salido returned to San Juan, Puerton Rico for his title rematch against hometown hero Juan Manuel ?Juanma? Lopez to score a 10th round TKO at the Roberto Clemente Coliseum before a stunned crowd of Puerton Rican fans.
After an opening round when both fighters felt each othere out, a confident Salido began to put the pressure on Lopez in the second round and hammered him around the ring in the third.
Lopez came back in the fourth round but Salido quickly reasserted his superiority and hurt the former champion but left himself open as he went for the kill and himself suffered a knockdown and was saved by the bell.
The champion hit right back in rounds six and seven and caught Juanma with some big power shots. The former champion put aside his initial plan of trying to out-box Salido and decided to slug it out in the ninth round.
But the Mexican refused to back off and dropped Lopez in the 10th round with two cracking uppercuts and a big right hand and the referee waved it off as Juanma was in no position to continue.
