ALA Promotions, who had been duped by Mexican boxing agent Hugo Correa by sending the wrong opponent for Rey 'Boom-Boom' Bautista on the hugely attended Pinoy Pride XII main event last night at the Carlos P. Garcia Sports Complex in Bohol, said they will sue the Mexican agent.
ALA Promotions sent the following statement to PhilBoxing.com.
"We are taking legal action against the person behind this act of deceit. Integrity which we have upheld for decades is of utmost importance to ALA Promotions as we owe all this to our TV network partner, our sponsors and most importantly to the public."
Bautista knocked out in two rounds Genaro Garcia Saturday night who by all indications was the Genaro Garcia who has a record of 10 wins and 11 losses according to boxrec.com and not the Genaro Garcia who ALA Promotions requested and contracted with Correa who has a record of 38 wins and 8 losses and who fought eight world champions including a career highlight win over Mexican boxing great Rafael Marquez.
