The heavyweight battle between WBA champion Alexander Povetkin and challenger and WBO cruiserweight champion at the Porsche Arena in Stuttgart, Germany, lived up to its pre-fight animosity and ended in controversy.
Povetkin won a narrow majority decision but had to survive a furious onslaught by Huck who almost knocked the Russian out in the twelfth and final round.
The first six rounds were pretty even until the 7th round when both Povetkin and Huck were rocked in a fight that was decided in the so-called championship rounds where Povetkin hurt
Huck in the 11th round and the challenger caught Povetkin with a big right in the 12th and rocked the champion but couldn?t put him away.
Fight fans will get a chance to watch the action when AKTV Channel 13 telecasts the heavyweight clash at 9:00 p.m. today.
