The World Boxing Council headed by its longtime president Don Jose Sulaiman has blasted the International Amateur Boxing Association AIBA stating blunbtly that its president Dr. Wu Ching -Kuo Wu as ?unworthy of trust.?

The WBC said that AIBA, through an appointed promoter in Mexico staged a boxing card in Foro Polanco between profesional and amateur b?xers which included foreign b?xers on the national team of Mexico was ?a failure and a complete mess.?

The WBC regarded the staging of the event in Mexico as ?an insult to the country which is the headquarters of the WBC? and claimed that the fight card ?could not be compared with the lowest card promoted in Mexico.?

WBC president Sulaiman expressed his utter dissatisfaction over how the AIBA is starting a tournament ?where only the b?xers from AIBA can participate in the Olympic Games ?in a monopoly that is clearly against the laws of many countries.?

Sulaiman said ?The worst part is that the President of the AIBAA, Mr. Wu, is asking for trust from the world of boxing for his wrong intentions.?

Bluntly stating that Mr. Wu is ? unworthy of trust? Sulaiman recounted how Wu visited him in Mexico in 2006 and asked for his help ?to gather votes from friends in boxing federations so he could be elected AIBA president.?

Sulaiman recalled that Dr. Wu?s visit was ?ratified by two friends, the president of the Boxing Commission of France, Humbert Furgoni and the President of the Boxing Federation of Italy, Franco Falcinelli, with whom I worked with and we gathered 31 votes for Mr. Wu, who won the election by 4 votes.?

The WBC president noted that it was only after three months that Dr. Wu called and thanked him for his support and that after six months informed him (Sulaiman) of his ?desire to work together to help both professional and amateur boxing.

An obviously upset Sulaiman posed the question, ? How can you trust Mr. Wu when we had an agreement to work together to help boxing and a year later he forgets and betrayed me??

Taking another dig at the AIBA set up, the WBC president noted that ?the important countries in the world of boxing aren?t satisfied by the current conditions of the AIBA that uses the votes of the small countries with few boxers to do whatever they want to using people who know so little about boxing.?
