Casimero.
21 year old Johnreil Johnreil Casimero clashes with former IBF light flyweight champion Luis Alberto Lazarte for the interim title in Buenos Aires, Argentina on February 10.
After some uncertainty promoter Sammy Gello-ani told the Manila Standard, ?It?s a done deal.? He said he was ?just waiting for the contract to arrive from Argentina.?
The 40 year old Lazarte, nicknamed ?El Mosquito? has a record of 49-10-2 with 18 knockouts while Casimero who is almost half Lazarte?s age has a record of 15-2 with 9 knockouts.
Lazarte is coming off a twelve round unanimous decision over Nerys Espinoza of Nicaragua last September 2, 2011 in an IBF title eliminator.
Lazarte fought Mexican Ulises Solis and lost by a split decision in an IBF title rematch on April 30, 2011 after their first encounter ended in a majority draw although Lazarte?s loss was attributed to the one point deductions against him in rounds 4 and 10.
Lazarte had earlier won the title from Panama?s Carlos Tamara in Tamara?s first defense after winning the crown from Brian Viloria in a shock 12th round TKO in a fight that Viloria was winning handily on the scorecards of all three judges until fatigue set in.
Casimero is coming off a 2nd round TKO over Roemart Sentilles last October 15, 2011 after suffering a 5th round TKO at the hands of talented South African Moruti Mthalane in a world title fight on March 6, 2011.
Casimero also lost by a twelve round split decision to Raul Garcia Hirales in a WBO light flyweight title fight on July 24, 2010. Raul Garcia Hirales subsequently moved up in weight and lost in a WBO flyweight title fight to Filipino Donnie Nietes in Bacolod City last October.
Casimero?s biggest win was an 11th round TKO over Nicaragua?s Cesar Canchilla on December 19, 2009 in a WBO light flyweight interim title fight, dropping Cancihilla once in round 8 and twice in round 11.
