CAN GOLEZ FULFILL HIS PROMISE TO KO FORMER CHAMP EDGAR SOSA?

Filipino Roilo ?The Phoenix? Golez has made a bold prediction on his arrival in Mexico City promising to knock out former world champion and current WBC International champion Edgar Sosa in four rounds. But whether he can fulfill his promise remains to be seen.
BoxingScene.com reported that Golez who battles the vastly more experienced Sosa at the Foro Planco in Mexico City on Sunday morning Manila Time told reporters at the airport "I know enough about Sosa to know what kind of fighter he is. Sosa is a skilled boxer, with a lot of speed and he punches in bursts. But he also has shortcomings.?
According to the widely read internet boxing site Golez claimed Sosa ?Gets hit, and there is hope to knock him out around the fourth round. My game plan will be to attack from the start, but if the knockout doesn't come -I'm prepared to box and secure the victory on points."
Although Golez is regarded as a tough little fighter he may find it hard to fulfill his predictions . For one thing the 24 year old Golez is coming off a 5th round TKO at the hands of another Mexican Sammy Gutierrez last October 1, 2011 in a fight where Golez was deducted two points in the opening round by referee Laurentino Oropeza for an intentional head-butt.
When Oropeza stopped the contest at 2:06 of the fifth round with Golez helpless on the ropes he was behind on the scorecards of all three judges by a 40-34 shutout.
Golez did win the WBC Youth light flyweight title with a ten round unanimous decision over Yoomongkol Vor Saengthep on May 27, 2010 and scored a 1-th round TKO to win the Asian Boxing Council minimum weight title from another Thai, Thongthailek Sor Tanapinyo on July 8, 2011 its clear that the 32 year old veteran Sosa is a superior fighter with lots of experience against the best in his division.
Sosa who has a record of 43-7 with 26 knockouts has even more KO?s than Golez has fights since the Filipino?s record is 13-7 with 5 knockouts.
Sosa is ranked No. 2 in the world by the WBC while Golez is not even in the top 40.
Sosa has tangled with some of the best Filipino champions. He won a majority decision over Brian Viloria in a battle for the vacant light flyweight title on April 14, 2007 and successfully defended the title ten times including a 7th round TKO over Juanito Rubillar on November 29, 2008 and a unanimous twelve round decision over Sonny Boy Jaro on September 27, 2008.
However, he lost by a 2nd round TKO to Rodel Mayol after a head-butt by Mayol in the opening round made Sosa groggy and unable to fend off the battack of Mayol. It was later discovered that Sosa suffered a fracture of his cheek bone forcing him to take a six month layoff.
Sosa came back to win the WBC International title with a 10thn round TKO over game Ryan Bito whom he dropped twice in the tenth with vicious body shots.
Sosa defended his title three times, the last being against Julio Paz whom he knocked out in the very first round.
However, Sosa dropped a unanimous twelve round decision in a title fight against WBC flyweight champion Pongsaklek Wonjongkam on October 21, 2011.
