PADUA SUFFERS 2ND ROUND TKO IN PABA WELTERWEIGHT TITLE FIGHT

The Philippines Dennis Padua has suffered a 2nd round TKO at the hands of Teerachai Or Ekarin (Karatingdaenggym) in a Pan Asia Boxing Association welterweight title fight at the Bangkok University campus in Thailand on Friday.

Padua, nicknamed the ?Filipino Bamboo? bent under the power of Teerachai who was the PABA Interim champion and had successfully defended the interim title five times since first winning the crown with a 2nd round TKO over Moses Seran of Indonesia on August 17, 2010.

Teerachai had beaten Filipinos Amor Tinio, Joel De La Cruz and Dan Nazareno Jr . The title defense against Nazareno?s was the Thai interim champion?s last on September 6, 2011.

With the emphatic win over Padua, the undefeated 19 year old Teerachai improved his record to 12-0 with 8 knockouts while Padua who was ranked No. 14 welterweight by PABA dropped to 9-4-1 with 4 knockouts.

The loss to Teerachai was Padua?s second TKO in a row having being stopped by Ekapol Yothinpananet in a scheduled six round bout last September 22, 2011.
