Peter Maniatis.

Well known Australian promoter and TV Boxing show host Peter Maniatis arrives in Manila on Friday to finalize a fight card he will co-promote in General Santos City on January 13.

Maniatis told the Manila Standard he hopes to get bantamweight Ray ?Sting Ray? Las Pinas who is coming off a 4th round knockout of Eric Macas last December 27 on the card.

Las Pinas is jointly handled by Claude Manangquil and Maniatis and is a talented fighter with a record of 15-5 with 4 knockouts.

Maniatis said he is excited about his signing of junior welterweight Hermilito Dela Torre who was reportedly a member of the Philippine amateur pool to a four year contract.

He said ?I expect big things from him as he is a noted, explosive power puncher and has been described as a standout from the amateur ranks.?

Dela Torre is 17 years old and will make his pro debut on the GenSan card in January. The popular KO Boxing TV show host in Australia also has great hopes for WBA No. 10 ranked light flyweight Randy Petalcorin.

Petalcorin is off the January 13th General Santos fight card because of a hand injury but will be in action again by March

Maniatis told us "Randy Petalcorin has the makings of a future World Champion at only 19 years of age and with Jim Manangquil and Sanman gym he has time to recover over Xmas with his hand injury.?

Petalcorin won the interim Pan Asia Boxing Association title when he dropped Michael Rodriguez in the 8th round before Rodriguez was disqualified by referee Silvestre Abainza at 1:39 of the round on August 6, 2011..

He earlier won the vacant WBC Asia Boxing Council Continental title with a sensational 1st round knockout of Thai Yodchingchai Sithkonnapha on June 11, 2011.
