AKTV IBC 13 in keeping with its commitment to provide boxing fans with some of the greatest fights of all time will begin airing its series of KOTV Classics on Wednesday, December 7 at 9:00 p.m..
The initial offering will present highlights of the ?Fight of the Century? which kicked off the memorable trilogy between Muhammad Ali and ?Smokin? Joe Frazier at New York?s famed Madison Square Garden on March 6, 1971.
In the biggest purse at that time the fighters split $5 million.
Both Ali and Frazier who passed away recently were unbeaten champions who battled furiously before Frazier Frazier dropped Ali with a vicious left hook flush on the jaw in Round 15. Ali got up immediately and fought back but lost a close unanimous decision.
In another classic fight highlighted on the show, Arturo ?Thunder? Gatti battles-Ivan Robinson at the Convention Hall, Atlantic City, New Jersey, on August 22, 1988
The action-packed bout was voted the Ring Magazine ?Fight of the Year? and ?Upset of the Year.?
The third fight will spotlight the second defense of the WBO welterweight title by Puerto Rican southpaw Daniel Santos against Neil Sinclair in Yorkshire, England on December 16, 2000.
