Both WBC super welterweight champion Saul ?Canelo? Alvarez and challenger Kermit Cintron made weight at the official weigh-in for tomorrow?s showdown at the Monumental Plaza De Toros in Mexico City.

Both fighters tipped the scales at 154 pounds for the fight that WBC president Don Jose Sulaiman believes will be a genuine test for the extremely popular Alvarez who is handled by Golden Boy Promotions and is regarded as one of the future superstars of pro boxing.

In stepping up preparations for what could be a career defining fight for him, former world champion Cintron sparred with tough, young Mike Lee and veteran world champion Shane Mosley.

Cintron made it clear ?I came here to fight for the WBC belt that Canelo has and I?ll give everything in me to do this" stressing that he had "trained hard" for the title fight.

Alvarez, without a doubt the hottest prospect out of Mexico has been chided for taking on weak opponents in order to pad his record.

This time around against a worthy opponent Alvarez said "I?m ready and want to show that I?m a good fighter. Cintron is a great test but I?m sure I?ll be the winner."

The fight will be telecast by free-to-air sports network AKTV IBC 13 at 9:00 p.m. on Sunday.
