Filipino Elmar Francisco (Singwancha) as expected lost by a twelve round unanimous decision in a WBC Asian Boxing Council bantamweight championship bout against Yodchanchai Nakornloung at the national stadium in Bangkok.
In a questionable match-up where the unranked Francisco who sported as many as 13 defeats which was the same as the number of wins of Yodchanchai survived the twelve round title clash with two of the three judges scoring the fight by a comfortable 117-111 margin for the champion and the third judge making it a little closer at 116-112.
The 25 year old Francisco dropped to 15-14-1 with 3 KO?s while Yodchanchai improved to 14-2 with 12 KO?s.
Francisco was not even ranked in the top 13 of the Asian Boxing Council bantamweight division although he had won his three previous fights against Filipino journeymen Eric Rapada (13-15-5, 4 KO?s) whom he beat on points last March 7 after winning a six round unanimous decision over Michael Romulo (3-15-7, 2 KO?s) last May 22 and Ronnie Dex Dalut (5-3, 2 KO?s) last July 16.
