NBA superstar Kobe Bryant of the Los Angeles Lakers who shares a passion for basketball with pound-for-pound king Manny Pacquiao and was featured along with Manny as one of the high profile Nike endorsers, visited Pacquiao at the Wild Card Gym Thursday.
Pacquiao?s adviser Michael Koncz said Bryant spent about an hour and watched Pacquiao train.
Bryant who has made several visits to the Philippines including his last visit with a roster of All Stars including Derrick Rose, Kevin Durant, Chris Paul and Derek Fischer among others.
One of the highlights of the visitors game against the Smart Gilas national team was when Pacquiao arrived at the Araneta Coliseum and Kobe strode across the court during a timeout to greet Pacquiao who walked over to the NBA superstars who posed with him for photographs and got the eight division world champion?s autograph.
With the NBA lockout still unresolved it?s almost certain that Bryant and some of the other NBA stars who are fans of Pacquiao will be at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas when Pacquiao defends his WBO welterweight title against WBO/WBA lightweight champion Juan Manuel Marquez on November 13, Manila Time.
