World Boxing Council president Don Jose Sulaiman and his son and executive secretary Mauricio Sulaiman have been hoinored at the well-attended International Boxing Expo at the Plaza de las Estrellas in Mexico City.

Pepe Rodriguez of the WBC reported that the event was declared open by the WBC president.

Among those who attended the affair were former world champions Pipino Cuevas, Victor Rabanales, Cesar Bazan and the reigning WBC flyweight champion Adrian ?El Confessor? Hernandez.

One of the highlights of the Expo was the unveiling of the ?immortalized hands? of Mauricio Sulaiman.

WBC president Don Jose Sulaiman was, according to Rodriguez, ?pleasantly surprised? when he was awarded a commemorative plaque in recognition of his entry into the Guinness Book of Records for heading the WBC for the past 35 years.

The event which was organized by Edgar del Toro showcased several boxing articles, including the colorful posters of the Mexican artist Eduardo de la Cruz.

Two other world champions are scheduled to have their hands immortalized. They are three-division world champion and Mexican legend Juan Manuel ?Dinamita? Marquez who battles pound for pound king Manny Pacquiao in the third fight of their eagerly awaited trilogy in Las Vegas on November 12 and WBC world champion Ana Maria La ?Guerrera? Torres.
