NEW YORK CITY - Undefeated WBO two-division world champion Omar Andres Narvaez of Argentina continues to train at the Affinia Hotel Gym here in New York City but keeps to himself unlike WBC/WBO bantamweight champion Nonito "The Filipino Flash" Donaire,

Donaire is in high spirits and entertains and impresses the US and Philippine media covering the build-up to Saturday's Donaire debut at New York's famed Madison Square Garden theater.

Donaire made an impact during his courtesy call at the Philippine Consulate where his brief remarks and response to questions mainly from the Filipino-American media representatives provided an insight into the fighter's thinking not merely about the fight against Narvaez but his role of inspiring young kids.

Donaire's visit to a school of Filipino-American kids whom he addressed was regarded as a resounding success and its become increasingly clear that the articulate, entertaining world champion is becoming a huge favorite among the media as well as the fans.

After a lunch at a nearby cafe Donaire decided to get some sleep and told us he would train later in the evening to approximate the time of the fight on Saturday which he has been doing since his arrival in New York where he appears to be very comfortable.

Narvaez himself has been training at the hotel gym but reportedly asked a Top Rank official who was merely checking on him to leave, because he didn't want to be disturbed.

Narvaez and his entourage were seen leaving for an early training session and returning to the hotel without taking notice of anybody or talking to the media.

Former world light welterweight champion Morris East who is part of Team Donaire and does the punch-mitts with the champion noted that Narvaez "is small" compared to Donaire while Nonito observed that while the undefeated Argentine was small he had a big, not swollen head, which would be an easy target.

East told us that Donaire was "doing very well and has no problems" even as he expressed confidence "The Filipino Flash" would inflict the first defeat in Narvaez' career.

The undefeated two division world champion - flyweight and super flyweight champion sat down for lunch and later posed for a photo shoot for Top Rank's ace photographer Chris Farina.

ABS-CBN will telecast the fight "live" beginning at 10:15 a.m. and on the popular TFC, The Filipino Channel that reaches large Filipino communities around the world. The fight will also be televised by HBO Boxing After Dark.
