Another boxing legend of all time and a former world champion in five different weight divisions who is regarded as one of the most spectacular knockout artists ever, Thomas Hearns, has confirmed that he will be present in the 49th World Boxing Council Convention to be held in Las Vegas, Nevada, from December 11 to 17 this year.

Hearns ended his exceptional career having shaped a record of 61 wins, out of which 48 were via the always spectacular and exciting knockout route.

Fight fans especially remember Hearns' his bouts against such other greats as Sugar Ray Leonard , Roberto ?Mano de Piedra? Duran, Wilfredo Benitez and Marvin Hagler, in addition to many others.

Hearns lost to Hagler in a fight that the WBC itself described as " really violent... a kind of battle that only a few times has been seen. It did not last long, but brought excitement to all boxing fans around the world."

Hearns, who was born in Memphis, Tennessee, held the Welter, Superwelter, Middle, Supermiddle, and Lightheavyweight world titles and he shone intensely in all the weight divisions.

Hearns was known for his lethal right hand and was the first boxer to win four titles in four different weight divisions.

He was involved in many memorable ring battles throughout his exciting career. His career truly took off when he ripped Pipino Cuevas in a fight that was telecast by the Philippine government TV network Maharlika Broadcasting System Channel 4 which introduced Hearns to Filipino fight fans

Then followed the classic battles with Sugar Ray Leonard and his two round battering of another boxing legend Roberto Duran of Panama.

Some boxing experts continue to refer to the Hearns - Marvin Hagler brawl as "The Best Three Rounds in Boxing."

If there was one thing boxing fans could count on was that anytime Hearns entered the ring it would result in an action-packed fight.

That is Thomas Hearns, the man and boxer fans and WBC members will be able to meet and greet in Las Vegas for a few days. See you there!!
