WBO WORLD LIGHT FLYWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP LIVE ON PAY-PER-VIEW IN CEBU (WITH VIDEO)

In what may well be considered a first in boxing on television in the Philippines, the popular ?Pinoy Pride? series will now be on pay-per-view ?live? on Sky Cable and at SM Cebu Cinema 1.

The first major fight in this innovative effort will be the WBO light flyweight title bout between Mexico?s Ramon Garcia Hirales and former WBO minimum weight champion Donnie Nietes who battle each at the University of St. La Salle Gymnasium in Bacolod City on Saturday, October 8.

The Philippines? premier boxing promotional outfit ALA Promotions and top executives of ABS-CBN Sports have finalized an agreement with Sky Cable and the SM City Group to showcase the ?Pinoy Pride IX? world title fight so that fight fans in Cebu who normally pack the Waterfront Hotel & Casino to watch the fights can have a chance to catch the action on pay-per-view.

ALA Promotions president and CEO Michael Aldeguer said ?We are surprised at the tremendous demand for this championship fight that we are experiencing in Cebu now. We had to find solutions to address this matter.?

The youthful son of respected boxing patron Tony Aldeguer said ?We are glad to announce to boxing fans that PINOY PRIDE 9 can now be viewed exclusively live in Cebu on PPV. We are very excited and happy for the fans in Cebu about this recent development.?

The ?Pinoy Pride? series is broadcast internationally on the popular TFC network, The Filipino Channel of ABS-CBN in the Middle East, Europe and Australia.

Also included in the PPV telecast will be the WBO Asia Pacfic Bantamweight Championship between defending champion AJ ?Bazooka? Banal against dangerous Mexican KO artist Mario ?Macas? Briones who is undefeated in his 20 professional fights.

Also to be featured on this maiden Pay Per View event of ALA Promotionsand ABS-CBN will be the another exciting prospect, undefeated Arthur ?El Matador? Villanueva who will be fighting his first internationally broadcast bout against ShaabaniMadilu of Kenya who is on a 5 fight winning streak.

The last ?Pinoy Pride VIII? which featured undefeated Milan ?Metodico? Melindo who beat tough Mexican challenger Francisco Rosas had a remarkable national television rating of 13.8% with an amazing 21% in Mindanao.

?PINOY PRIDE IX? is presented by ALA Promotions and ABS-CBN Sports and is supported by L? Fisher Hotel, Palmas Del Mar Bacolod, East View Hotel, SM City Bacolod, Kia Motors, the City Government of Bacolod and the Provincial Government of Negros Occidental.
