Boxing is flourishing in Mexico and one of the prime movers of linking title fights with tourism in places such as the resort city of Cancun has been WBC president Don Jose Sulaiman.

Sulaiman has been recognized for his efforts by the Mexican government with no less than Mexican President Felipe Calderon Hinojosa honoring Sulaiman by appointing him ?Tourism Ambassador of Mexico.?

The award was presented to Sulaiman in Mazatlan, Sinalao. The award was held as part of the celebration of the International Day of Tourism (year of tourism in Mexico 2011) at the port of Mazatlan. Besides the President of Mexico the affair was attended by other high-ranking government officials.

The appointment was personally presented to the WBC president by President Calderon Hinojosa. It was a diploma signed by the Tourism Minister, Gloria Guevara Manzo on the day when the campaign ?Mexico Siente? (Mexico Feels) was launched.

The campaign seeks to attract more foreign tourist to Mexico and just like the President of the Republic who said: ?Mexico is a country full of colors, flavors and music; it is my greatest passion and my raison d??tre?.
