ORCOLLO REACH LAST 16 OF PREDATOR 10-BALL TOURNEY

WORLD no. 1 Filipino Dennis "Robocop" Orcollo defeated countryman Carlo "Cool" Biado, 9-3, to advance to the Round of 16 of the 11th Predator International 10-Ball Championships yesterday at the Robinson's Galleria in Ortigas.

Orcollo, the top player of Perry Mariano's Bugsy Promotion took a 5-0 to 7-3 commanding lead and never looked back in this $10,000 top prize tournament.

"Nakauna agad ako at maganda ang latag ng bola sa akin," said the Bislig, Surigao del Sur native Orcollo, the reigning World 8-ball champion.

Also made it to the next round through to the loser's bracket is another Filipino bet John Salazar, who edged compatriot Renemar "Revo" David, 9-8.

Defending champion Efren "Bata" Reyes, Ronato "Volcano" Alcano, Roberto "Pinoy Superman" Gomez, Ramil "Bebeng" Gallego and Jundel "Jano" Mazon made it to the Last 16 through the winner's brackets.

Reyes defeated David Alcaide of Spain, 9-7, Alcano routed Biado, 9-7, Gomez toppled Wu Hao of China, 9-1, Gallego trounced Charlie Williams of the United States, 9-8, and Mazon beat Salazar, 9-4.
