Roach wants Pacquiao-Marquez III to be decided by knockout

Four-time Trainer of the Year Freddie Roach said he wants Manny Pacquiao to decide the outcome of Act III of his trilogy with Mexican Juan Manuel Marquez on November 12 (Nov. 13 in Manila) in Las Vegas.
Not a third party, not the judges, one of whom mistakenly decided the first fight in 2004 costing the Filipino eight-division champion a clear victory in a 12-round bout that ended in a controversial draw.
Roach wants the reigning World Boxing Organization welterweight champion to win by a knockout and not merely score a knockdown that in their second meeting that resulted in a split decision that put more doubts than answer as to who between the two fighters is really better.
?I want Manny to knock him (Marquez) out,? the 50-year-old former fighter himself said in an overseas talk with this writer confirming his statements made during the second leg of the media tour Tuesday (Wednesday in Manila) at the Chelsea Pier in New York.
Like in the well-attended press-public preview, Roach refused to say in what round the ?Pacman? will be able to defuse ?Dinamita? except to say ?somewhere along the way.?
Roach reasoned out that the reigning pound-for-pound king has improved a lot than the Pacquiao who had difficulty containing Marquez?s? counterpunching wizardry the first two times around.
?Manny was just a young kid then. He?s a much more intelligent fighter now, more mature. I?m very confident we will knock him out,? he assured adding though that Manny can?t afford to be complacent against the technically sound Marquez.
?Manny cannot just walk in there like he did the first two times. He has to come out pressing to disarm Marquez as early as possible. Just like in 2004 (when Pacquiao dropped Marquez to the canvas three times in the first round). But he has to sustain his attack throughout, just like wht he did to Oscar (DeLa Hoya), Miguel (Cotto) and Ricky (Hatton),? Roach recalled in reference to four straight KO victories the Pacman fashioned out following his split decision triumph over the Mexican.
Pacquiao agreed with his handler saying,"I don't know what Marquez can improve moving up in weight. We fought at 130 pounds in the last fight, and the third fight is 144. I don't know what he can do.
? When I saw his last fight, I saw a still-good Marquez, but the difference is, I changed a lot since the last fight we had. ... I changed a lot of my style, and improved my technique and strategy and my power. I'm not underestimating him," he added.
The first time Pacquiao and Marquez fought was at the featherweight division while the second at super-featherweight .
While the Mexican legend ached to meet Pacquiao for the third time, the Filipino went travelled from one division after the other in scoring seven straight wins against heavier opponents.
Marquez, on the other hand, fought six times after his loss to Pacquiao, winning five, four of them via stoppage, and losing one. His lone defeat, a lopsided decision to Floyd Mayweather, was his first and only fight above the lightweight (135) limit.
Pacquiao kicked off the news conference with the rendition of the single "Sometimes When We Touch," along with the original composer and singer of that sentimental ballad, Dan Hill.
