Francisco Rosas (22-8-2, 13 KO?s), the 31 year old Mexican opponent of undefeated Filipino flyweight Milan Melindo (24-0, 8 KO?s) has vowed to hurt Melindo when they clash for the WBO Intercontinental title before an expected sell-out crowd at the Waterfront Hotel and Casino in Cebu City.

Rosas told a group of boxing writers in Cebu that he ?never gets hurt during fights and Melindo will be the one feeling the pain.?

The Mexican warrior also took a dig at Melindo as well as his ALA Promotions hosts by pointing out that ?if he (Melindo) was really that good, he would have been champion a long time ago.?

Rosas wasn't impressed by Melindo's world rankings where the Filipino is rated No. 5 in the WBO, No. 7 in the WBC and No. 11 in the WBA and IBF.

At the same time Rosas admitted that he knows nothing about Melindo not having watched any tapes of his fights and said he would ?find out during the fight? even as he promised a good fight because he had ? prepared well and sparred 100 rounds with Mexican fighters.?

Rosas lost by a 2nd round knockout to hard-hitting Roman Gonzalez in a battle for the

WBA Interim light flyweight title on October 24, 2010. Although Rosas was knocked out in the second round he wobbled Gonzalez with a big right hook at the start of the round before being overpowered. Rosas recovered from that defeat by scoring a 5th round TKO victory over Antonio Garibay.

Rosas has fought some of the best including Gonzalez who dropped him three times in their rematch after Rosas put on a terrific fight in their first meeting on February 28, 2009 and lost by a controversial decision in a fight where Rosas claimed he was robbed.

Rosas won a majority decision in a WBA light flyweight title eliminator against tough Jose Landaeta on January 30, 2010 and scored a unanimous twelve round decision over Ivan Meneses in a fight for the vacant WBC FECARBOX flyweight title on April 26, 2008.

He also fought WBC champion Edgar Sosa for the WBC FECARBOX light flyweight title and dropped a unanimous decision on June 24, 2004.

Rosas has a sound amateur background just like Melindo who was a two-time Palarong Pambansa gold medalist while Rosas finished his amateur career with a 53-7 record.
