Undefeated Jether Oliva and IBF light flyweight champion, Mexican veteran Ulises Solis made the weight for their tile showdown in Guadalajara, Mexico on Sunday, Manila Time.

While promoter Sammy Gello-ani who helped arrange the title shot conceded that Oliva is the underdog against the crafty Solis, the young fighter didn?t seem awed by the champion at the official weigh in where both fighters tipped tipped the scale at 108 pounds.

Gello-ani told the Daily Inquirer they were banking on Oliva?s height advantage to help offset the experience of Solis.

Oliva?s manager, American Kenny Smith told the Daily Inquirer that Jether was ?offered this IBF world title fight only four weeks ago which is very short notice to be fighting a guy like Solis but thankfully Jether stays in great condition and lives a very clean life.?

Smith conceded that ?going to Guadalajara to fight a great champion like Solis will not be easy but Jether is excited about this opportunity to fight a respected world champion like Solis and I feel he is going to do his best to make the Philippines and his family proud of him.?

Oliva is undefeated and has a record of 17-0-1 with 11 knockouts while Solis has a record of 33-2-3 with 21 knockouts.

Oliva won the WBO Oriental minimum weight title with a unanimous twelve round decision over previously undefeated Fernando Ocon last May 13 and has moved up in weight in order to take the title shot even at a short four weeks notice.

The 29 year old Solis lost the IBF title via a stunning 11th round knockout to Brian Viloria at the Smart-Araneta Coliseum on April 19, 2009 and regained the title in a rematch with Argentina?s Luis Albert Lazarte after they battled to a draw in their first encounter for the world title. Solis has won five of his lasy six fights and drawn one.

Gello-ani conceded that while boxing writers and fight fans may say that Oliva is overmatched against a veteran like Solis he believes Oliva ?has reached the day where he has the opportunity to prove himself aside from his strong desire and ambition to become a World Champion.?
