OLIVA BATTLES SOLIS FOR IBF WORLD TITLE

Undefeated 24 year old Jether Oliva battles Mexican veteran Ulises Solis for the IBF world light flyweight title in Guadalajara< Mexico on Saturday.

Solis who lost the title to Brian Viloria in a stunning 11th round knockout on April 19, 2009 at the Araneta Coliseum regained the crown in a rematch with Argentina?s Luis Alberto Lazarte after they fought to a majority draw in their first clash.

Since his loss to Viloria who moved up in weight after losing the title and became a three-time world champion by winning the WBO flyweight title with a twelve round unanimous decision over Julio Cesar ?Pingo? Miranda, Solis has won five of his last six fights and drawn one.

Oliva is undefeated in 18 fights with 17 wins and one draw and has 11 knockouts to his name while Solis has a record of 33-2-3 with 21 knockouts.

He won the WBO Oriental minimum weight title with a unanimous twelve round decision over previously undefeated Fernando Ocon last May 13.
