Promising 23 year old Filipino-Australian Heath ?The Heat? Ellis fights for the Interim WBC Youth World light middleweight title and the vacant WBC Asian Boxing Council title at the Sunshine Roller Skating Centre in Melbourne, Australia on Friday night.

Ellis who has a record of 14-2-1 with 7 knockouts battles Thailand?s 27 year old Patomsuk Pathompothiong who has a 12-1-1, 8 knockouts slate and is considered a tough opponent.

Also on the card welterweight Filipino Ranee ?KO Kid? Ganoy who is 31 years of age and has a record of 31-11-2 with 27 knockouts clashes with another Thai opponent Sapapetch Sor Sakaorat who boasts of a record of 23-8 with 13 knockouts.

Although the hard-hitting Ganoy has knocked out three-Australian champions, one Commonwealth champion & former IBF World champion Robbie Peden, Ganoy has had an up and down career and failed to fulfill his true potential as a world title hope.

Ellis won the WBC Asian Boxing Council Continental light middleweight title when he blasted Yodmongkol Singmanasak last March 18 to win by a 2nd round knockout. Earlier, Ellis defeated Benny Horra in a rough and tumble bout to score an eight round unanimous decision last November 19.

Against Yodmongkol, Heath?s father Neil Ellis said his son ?fought well and was going well? in the title fight before he took out the 23 year old Thai fighter whose record dropped to 11-10-1 with 7 knockouts.

In an email to insidesports.ph/Viva Sorts some time ago, Ellis said Keith who is now a teacher handling fourth graders is ?settling in again? and plans on getting married in November. Ellis said the young fighter was training hard because of a heavy schedule of fights lined up for him.

The talented Fil-Australian weighed in at 152 ? pounds while Yodmongkol came in at 149.8 pounds at the official weigh in on Thursday. The Thai fighter is coming off a first round knockout of John Johan last May 20.

Ganoy who tipped the scales at 140.4 pounds is coming off a win over 46 year old Guillermo Mosquera who now fights out of New Zealand when Mosquera retired in the fourth round due to a left shoulder injury.

It will be a rematch between Ganoy and Sapapetch who first met in July 19, 2008 with Ganoy winning by a 2nd round knockout.

Sapapetch also lost by a 2nd round TKO to talented Jason Pagara of the famed ALA Gym in Cebu but is coming of a 2nd round TKO win in his last fight against Nophon Kiatpracha Gym last May 27.
