The son of legendary Mexican Julio Cesar Chavez and the brother of WBC No.1 middleweight Julio Cesar Chavez ? Omar Chavez ? has stopped 36 year old journeyman Genaro Trazancos, who was twice badly beaten by Filipino southpaw Mercito ?No Mercy? Gesta.

Figuring in the main event for the first time in his career and also in his first ten round clash in a fight card staged in Mexicali, Mexico, Chavez decked Trazancos in the second round before referee Alberto Ramos called a halt at 0:52 seconds of round four.

The decision was greeted by boos from the fans who didn?t agree with the sudden stoppage.

With the win the undefeated Chavez improved to. 26-0-1 with 18 knockouts while fellow Mexican Trazancos dropped to 22-15-1 with 13 knockouts.

The 21 year old Chavez was coming off a 2nd round TKO win over Ignasi Cballero on December 18, 2010 while Trazcanos retired in round three of a rematch with Gesta last February 18, 2011 after being knocked out in the 7th round in their first encounter on August 20, 2010.

The undefeated 23 year old Gesta (21-0-1, 11 KO?s) who last week signed a four year promotional deal with Top Rank Promotions is scheduled to make his debut for promoter Bob Arum on July 9 on the undercard of what promises to be a barnburner between Brandon ?Bam Bam? Rios and Urbano Antillo for Rios? WBA world lightweight title at the Home Depot Center in Carson City, California.

Gesta?s co-manager Vince Parra said Mercito ?is going to be in the best shape of his life? for the July 9 bout so that ?we can actually let him loose on the big guys. This is going to be a hell of a ride.?
