
JACK ASIS WINS AUSTRALIAN LIGHT WELTERWEIGHT TITLE

Filipino Jack Asis, fighting out of Fairfield, New South Wales, has won the Australian light welterweight title with a spectacular first round knockout of Josh King in a fight card at Aitkenvale in Queensland.
With the win the 27 year old Asis improved is record to 23-18-4 with 12 knockouts while the 26 year old King dropped to 12-3 with 6 knockouts.
King had won his last nine fights and was favored to win but was stunned by the Filipino.
In his last fight Asis won by an 8th round TKO over undefeated Brett William Smith who had a record 9-0-1 with 5 knockouts.
Before the Smith fight, Asis had lost five fights in a row including a 4th round knockout at the hands of world rated Australian Billy Dib on September 15, 2010.
