Former WBC/WBO bantamweight champion Fernando ?KO-Chulito? Montiel has opened his spanking new gym in Los Mochis, Sinalaoa, Mexico.
The grand opening of the Montiel Gym included the usual tour of the facilities which included a large showcase of boxing equipment that is certain to attract world champions and promising prospects in Mexico which is a hotbed of boxing.
Besides the former world champion others expected to train at the Montiel Gym newly crowned world bantamweight champion Jorge ?Travieso? Arce and Hernan ?Tyson? Marquez.
Montiel has reportedly recovered from the 2nd round knockout he suffered at the hands of Nonito ?The Filipino Flash? Donaire at the Mandalay Bay Resort Hotel and Casino last February 19.
Although there have been claims that Montiel is hoping f or a rematch with Donaire, that is unlikely to happen since Donaire has other fighters lined up after his spectacular victory over the Mexican veteran.
