How confident is Freddie Roach that Filipino World Boxing Organization belt-holder Manny Pacquiao will beat challenger Shane Mosley when the two meet on Saturday (Sunday in Manila) at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas?

?Don?t ask me that,? the 51-year-old trainer told this writer when asked in a telephone interview yesterday shortly before TeamPacquiao motored to Las Vegas from downtown Hollywood where the champ held court for nearly a month in preparation for the fight.
?Manny Pacquiao is the best fighter in the world today and it wasn?t only me who said that,? he said. ?I am betting everything that Manny will remain the best boxer on earth after Saturday?s big fight.?

Regarding Mosley's history of of taking a banned substance to enhance further his strength?

?First, I don?t believe Shane will do that. Never will he do that again,? he assured. ?But even if he does, he won?t beat my man.?

?Whatever he brings, we will be ready for him. It (performance enhancing drugs) will help him, yes, but only a little bit. It won?t win him the fight, because he can?t beat my guy, regardless of what he does.?

?As I have been saying as early as when we arrived here in L. A. we?re 100 percent ready for the fight. If Mosley brings his best, as he said he will, we?re ready for his best, Roach said. I don?t think there is any room for an upset, but in boxing you never know. We?re 100 percent ready on our end. We?ve done everything we can to get ready for the fight.?

Roach also dismissed the possibility of Team Pacquiao requesting for any additional drug test on Mosley.

?No, we can?t,because we refuse to do it ourselves,? said Roach in reference to the thrice aborted fight with Floyd Mayweather Jr. when the latter asked for an Olympic-style drug test.

? We?d be hypocrites to do that. We are not going to ask for any special drug test. HDH you can hide it and nobody could find that, not even Olympic style drug testing,? he explained.

Both Pacquiao and Mosley will worked out for the last time yesterday before breaking their respective California training camps, in Hollywood, in the case of the Filipino, and Big Bear for the American.

Each departed in separate custom-designed buses for the Fight Capital of the World. Hordes of fans from nearby Hollywood and Glendale sent of the popular world champion off from the Wild Card Gym with many more expected to await them in his grand arrival at the Porte Cochere in Las Vegas.

Mosley and trainer Naazim Richardson will arrive at noon Tuesday (Wednesday in Manila) at the front lobby of MGM Grand. Pacquiao and Roach are expected to follow half an hour later.

The last week of his build up program will be spent in the efforts of maintaining the gains accomplished in the first half-and-a-half that started in Baguio City.
