Mashantucket Connecticut - There was hearsay tonight that Floyd Mayweather will be making an appearance here in the Foxwoods MGM to watch the Andre Berto versus Victor Ortiz fight. Both boxers, Mayweather and Berto share one adviser in Al Haymon. In the lull between the fifth and sixth rounds of this exciting welterweight fight, Floyd Mayweather was shown in the big screens flanking the ring and he immediately drew reaction from the almost sold out arena. He was greeted by loud boos from the crowd and chants of ?Pacquiao, Pacquiao, Pacquiao? as he was shown with friend, rapper 50 cent in the screens here in Connecticut and televised by HBO worldwide.
As the action in the ring heated so was the booing and the jeering Mayweather received whenever he was shown in the screens here. Shout of ?Stop running Floyd.? were heard from the very animated crowd. He was shown again the period between the eight and ninth rounds and the boos became louder and louder from the crowd watching the fight. This was followed by chants of ?Fight Manny, Fight Manny, Fight Manny.? Mayweather was smiling as the cameras beamed on him seemingly mindless of the disapproval shown to him by the crowd. Mayweather and 50 cent left with their entourage at the end of the fight without even waiting for the announcement of the winner. They were escorted by a group of bodyguards and also with continued boos from the crowd as they exited the arena.
It seems that Floyd Mayweather cannot escape the ghost that is Manny Pacquiao wherever he goes. Be it shopping in a boutique store in his city of residence in Las Vegas or a mere spectator in a stadium in St. Louis, Missouri in the Midwest during the Devon Alexander vs. Andriy Kotelnik bout and now here in the mountains of Connecticut in the northeast, the taunting and heckling follows him. It is only up to him to stop it and he knows that the only way to do it is fight Manny.
